Assignment three possessed many questions and even a few minor setbacks for me. The most challenging hurdle I had to overcome was answering the “What” question. What will my topic be, what screencasting tool should I use and what presentation tool would best represent my topic. Deciding on the topic was difficult because I wanted to pick something that would both be interesting to create and also a great educational piece like a fun fact for my classmates.
I also had to overcome my fear of talking to a group of people, screencasting created the perfect avenue to hide behind but I found that I was still pretty nervous. I remade the video about six times because I kept making mistakes. It was a little frustrating so having a script helped my thought process and reminded me of where I left off.
I decided on using social media as my topic for this assignment since this class heavily relies on technology and some media apps. I used this assignment as an opportunity to analyze the steps that went into the creation of both my slides and my screencasting video. I am mostly hoping that people gain some more insight on screencast apps and how useful technology can be in our day to day life.
